Camp Red Tail Hawk
Have fun this summer exploring the outdoors and making new friends at Camp Red Tail Hawk at Rockwood Park. Children aged 6-10 will enjoy tree climbing, target archery, nature exploration, geocaching, orienteering, horseshoes and more. The camp will be Monday through Firday, 9 am to 1 pm. The fee is $85 per child. Sessions will be offered during the following weeks: June 28-July 2, July 5-9, July 12-16, July 26-30, August 2-6, August 9-13. Leaders in Training – Camp Red Tail Hawk

Come Out and Play Chesterfield
This camp for children ages 6-12 includes sports, team building and group games, music and arts and crafts. Offered at Beulah, Falling Creek, Chalkley and Ettrick elementary schools. An extended time option is available for summer school students. Summer school students are not automatically enrolled in this program. Monday-Thursday, July 6-Aug. 5, 1-5 p.m. $120. Come Out and Play Chesterfield Counselor-in-Training
The Counselor-in-Training (CIT) program provides a growth experience for teens ages 13-17 who would like an introduction to the principles of leadership. Teens contribute to the various camp programs by working with staff to lead younger campers in various recreational activities. Daily schedules for CITs may be adjusted to accommodate special needs and/or interests. Offered at Beulah, Falling Creek, Chalkley and Ettrick elementary schools. “Diggin” in History Archaeology Camp
The Chesterfield Historical Society and Chesterfield County Parks and Recreation Department will offer this archaeology camp for children ages 8-12. Children will experience archaeological excavations, artifact repair, uncover clues from the past and much more. Castlewood, 10201 Iron Bridge Road. July 12-16, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. $95. Eco-Adventure Camp II
Paddle and explore Virginia’s diverse rivers. On day one, paddle the riffles and gentle whitewater of the mountain region near James River State Park. On day two, paddle the meandering waters of the Pamunkey River in the piedmont region. Lastly, head south to the tannin waters of the Blackwater River in the coastal region. Sit-on-top kayaks will be used. For ages 12-14. Camp dates: June 29, 8 a.m.-6 p.m., June 30, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and July 1, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. The drop-off/pick-up will be at the Parks and Recreation Maintenance Center, located across from O.B. Flag Football Camp
Learn to pass, catch, run routes and punt like the pros! We'll practice these skills while playing Button Hook, Down & Out, Pitch & Run and First & Ten. Girls’ LAX Camp
Come play the fastest game on two feet! College and national level coaches will teach you the skills you need to play lacrosse: cradling, passing and catching, scooping, shooting and defense. Individual skill development, drills and scrimmages will be the focus each day of camp. Beginner and intermediate levels welcome. Horseback Riding
These camps are designed for beginners and beyond. Participants will learn proper techniques in handling, mounting, riding, dismounting and maintenance. Each camp culminates with a horse show on the final day. Actual riding times may vary on the last day due to the show. For ages 8 and older. Hunter Lane Stables, 3578 Hunter Lane. Mini & Masters Golf Camp
For boys and girls ages 7-17, these camps will accommodate golfers with varying skill levels. The Mini Masters (half day) will emphasize skill building for full swing, short game and putting. The Masters (full day) will experience extensive training on both the Par 3 and the Lake Course. Lunch will be provided each day. Send a snack for the afternoon session. Nature Nuts
It’s time to get nuts about nature! The Nature Nuts camp is designed with themed days, crafts and activities covering the habitats within Rockwood Park. We will discover everything from spiders to toads and frogs to bats and birds! You may register for only one session, but you may be placed on a waiting list for a second session. Registration deadline is one week prior to the course start date, depending upon availability. Both sessions cover the same curriculum. For ages 6-7. Robious Adventurers Camp
Join us for this exciting outdoor camp along the James River in northern Chesterfield County. Activities include fishing, kayaking, rock climbing at Peak Experiences Gym, nature exploration and awareness, and much more. For ages 10-12. Robious Landing Park, 3700 James River Road. Sports for Squirts
Children ages 3-5 will be introduced to a variety of sports, such as soccer, T-ball, basketball, lacrosse and hockey in a safe, structured environment. Summer Adventures
Summer Adventures provides an exploration of various leisure activities for young adults ages 13-25 with intellectual disabilities and/or other disabilities. Emphasis is on physical and leisure skill development and includes art, music, games, nature awareness, social interaction and community outings. Summer Sprouts
This camp will provide a first look into the natural world for your little summer sprout. Each day is a different theme and topic, from the meadow to the pond to things that fly! We will enjoy several hands-on learning activities and crafts and will even handle gentle reptiles and amphibians! Teen Adventures
Are you ready for challenge and adventure? Find out this summer with our weekly adventures. Use sit-on-top kayaks to paddle with the dolphins along the Atlantic Coast, kayak on the James River and learn to surf at Virginia Beach. For ages 13-15.

Teen Centers
This program is for rising sixth to 10th graders. A registration form must be completed before your child can attend this camp. Space is limited to the first 60 registrants. Registration fee covers all field trips, arts and crafts, and other activities. Fee assistance available for qualified applicants. Offered at Chester, Providence and Tomahawk Creek middle schools. Three-Day Golf Camp
Perfect for the new golfer or the child with some experience, this camp will teach full swing with woods/irons, short game, rules, etiquette and course management. There will be games and a skill contest with prizes for all. Juniors will receive a gift bag with a PGA certificate, Par 3 and Lake Course pass, ice cream treats and lunch on Friday. For ages 7-17. Youth Adventure Camp
Spend three adventure-filled days exploring Virginia’s wild places. Paddle on the Appomattox River at White Bank Park, learn recreational tree climbing, then raft the James River with Riverside Outfitters, snorkel at Lake Rawlings and hike in the Shenandoah mountains. Youth Multi-Sports Camp
Experience over 15 different sports in one week with the U.S. Sports Institute, including lacrosse, field hockey, mini Olympics and flag football. The camp gives participants the opportunity to play a variety of sports from around the world in a fun, safe environment. Participants should bring lunch. For ages 7-14. Rockwood Park.
